Plastic Agglomerator for PP PE Film & Woven Bags

Manufacturing processes inevitably generate plastic waste. A practical solution for handling this waste lies in the high-speed agglomerator. This machine takes thin thermoplastic films and items with walls under 2 millimeters – consider flexible PVC, polyethylene (both high and low density), polystyrene, and polypropylene – and directly converts them into granules. It even handles expanded polystyrene foam.

The core of the agglomerator’s operation is a forceful mechanical process. Operators introduce plastic waste directly into the machine’s processing chamber. Immediately, the rapidly rotating blades on the rotor engage with fixed blades, creating a shearing action. This robust cutting force swiftly reduces the plastic into smaller fragments. As the rotor spins, centrifugal force throws these fragments against the inner wall of the chamber. Simultaneously, the mixing action within the chamber causes the material to constantly move and flip.

The friction generated by the high-speed movement is key. The plastic pieces rubbing against each other, the chamber walls, and the blades generate intense frictional heat. This heat quickly elevates the plastic’s temperature to a point where it becomes semi-plasticized and begins to stick together. Just before the material forms a solid mass, a carefully measured amount of water injects into the chamber. This water flashes into steam upon contact with the hot plastic, instantly cooling the surface of the material. This rapid cooling prevents the formation of large clumps. The ongoing cutting action between the rotor and fixed blades then breaks the partially cooled plastic into individual granules of varying sizes and shapes. At this stage, you have the option to introduce colorants to dye the material.

The beauty of this process is its directness. The resulting granules are often ready to be fed directly into extruders or injection molding machines. For applications demanding higher precision, these granules can undergo a secondary extrusion and granulation process for enhanced plasticization and uniformity. The high-speed agglomerator represents a straightforward and powerful method for reclaiming value from plastic waste streams.
