A maintenance log should connect the symptom, operating condition, inspection result, action, replaced part, and post-repair measurement. Useful trends include throughput, motor current, vibration, bearing temperature, outlet moisture, pressure differential, water quality, chemical use, knife life, and unplanned stop time. Define alert and stop limits with the machine supplier and site safety team.
Condition monitoring does not remove the need for inspection. It helps the team schedule work when vibration, temperature, current, or quality starts to move away from the clean-machine baseline. After a major repair, repeat the baseline measurements before returning to full production.

Rank spares by safety, lead time, failure consequence, and installed quantity.
