Plastic Melt Lump Shredder Trial Run

This trial run shows a single-shaft shredder processing dense plastic melt lumps, extruder purgings, and head waste. The test focuses on controlled feeding and drivetrain protection for compact scrap that creates higher shock loads than ordinary loose plastic.

A hydraulic ram pushes heavy lumps toward the rotor at a controlled rate. This reduces bounce-back and keeps the material engaged while high-torque shearing breaks it into manageable pieces.

Rotatable knives work against fixed knives, while PLC overload monitoring and automatic reverse protect the cutting chamber if material bridges or creates an excessive load.

The selected screen controls discharge size so the shredded material can move to a granulator, pelletizer, compounding line, or in-house reuse process.
